Summer Yoga for Teens
This six week series invites students ages 12-16 to explore how yoga can build confidence, manage stress, and promote self-awareness. We will explore yoga postures, breath techniques and simple forms of meditation. No experience necessary and all teens welcome.
Why yoga for teens?
-Great physical workout based in building core strength and mobility
-Promotes healthy eating and lifestyle habits
-Nurtures self -acceptance and ability to develop meaningful relationships
-Increases self-awareness
-Practices regulating thoughts and feelings in a productive way (learning not to "flip your lid!")
-Teaches how to calm the mind, ease anxiety, and improve focus

Kristen Tollini is founder of Young Adult Yoga, LLC and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She completed her 200 RYT and an additional 100 hours in an accredited teen yoga course taught by Yoga Alliance International Master Teacher, Charlotta Martinus, and founder of the Teen Yoga Foundation in the U.K.
Kristen is excited to merge her love of yoga with her 25 years of experience as licensed mental health therapist and health advocate. She has served as a child behavioral consultant, a community outreach child and family therapist, clinical supervisor of a therapeutic afterschool program at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and is currently a leader in the field of health advocacy. Her passion is teaching our younger members of the community the skills to care for their physical and mental health.
