The MELT Method: Feel in control of your Life
The MELT Method is a science-backed self-care technique that anyone can use to stay active, enhance performance, and get out (and stay out) of pain. Developed by manual therapist and exercise physiologist, Sue Hitzmann, it uses specially designed hand and foot treatment balls and custom made soft rollers (along with your own body and breath) to calm the mind, tap into the autonomic regulators of the nervous system to boost control, and restore the supportive qualities of the connective tissue system to bring stability and balance back to the body. The restoration happens through rehydration—improving fluid flow throughout the connective tissue system called fascia. With gentle techniques, we help restore fascia’s supportive, supple qualities and release unwanted compression and tension that leads to imbalance and misalignment. The effect helps improve autonomic regulation and efficiency (making you feel in control of your life) which can lead to a cascade of vibrant, healthful effects throughout your
entire body—from moving with ease to bright, supple skin to better sleep and more energy.

Hand, Foot, & TMJ MELT Magic!!
Learn to use the MELT Method balls to reduce restrictions and pain. In this class we will sit, stand and roll out the tissues on the palms of our feet and hands as well as learn some facial techniques to restore hydration to your entire body. These simple sequences are designed for both preventative use and as a tool to help ease the pains of carpel tunnel, repetitive stress injuries, plantar fasciitis, head aches, TMJ, fatigue,
digestion issues and much more. This is an all levels class with an open invitation to all bodies.

Head, Neck & Shoulder MELT!
We will get down on the floor and use the soft MELT foam rollers and balls in this class. Looking at some of the common imbalances we all have in our neck and shoulders, this time together will address releasing stuck stress and restoring balance in your upper quarter. By gently using the roller and balls we can peel off some of the layers of tension that cause tight muscles in the jaw, temples, neck and upper spine. You’ll be surprised by how much this slow and intentional method can help to unwind those tight shoulders and clenched jaws! Come Play! This is an all levels class with an open invitation to all bodies; it is helpful if you feel comfortable getting down on the floor, however, modifications can be made if you do not.

Low Back & Lower Back Love MELT!
Zooming in on the lower back and body this class will explore rolling with both the MELT balls and soft foam roller. You will learn some anatomical cues along with how to sequence movement together to achieve optimal hydration in your tissues globally throughout the body. If you have ever experienced low back pain, hamstring cramps, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, bunions or restless leg syndrome this is the class for you! This is an all levels class with an open invitation to all bodies. It is helpful if you feel comfortable getting down on the floor, however, modifications can be made if you do not.

Taught by,
Kira Davis
From gymnastics to dance, yoga to circus arts, Kira has always been a mover. After surviving
an awful car crash in her teens and later seriously injuring her back as a young adult, she
realized that she was all flexibility and no strength. She was drawn to Pilates and MELT as a
tools for strengthening her hyper-mobile frame and immediately enjoyed the stabilizing results
they provided. Adopting a strong Pilates and MELT practice has helped Kira not only with pain
management, but more importantly, it has been the key in keeping hope and motivation alive to
get back to a reasonable level of function after severe injury.
Kira is inspired by the puzzle of human anatomy and feels excited to explore with clients on
their journey back to pain-free locomotion and recovery.
With special attention to rehabilitative Pilates and gentle MELT techniques, Kira also sends
focus into low back pain, arthritis management, plantar fasciitis/bunions, balance, postural
alignment, repetitive stress injury, deep core/pelvic floor, SI dysfunction and TMJ issues.
“It is an honor to be part of the process that helps your body move through space with ease.”
Outside the studio Kira enjoys being on her paddle board, biking, swimming, gardening or
spending time in the sun.
Certifications include:
*BASI Pilates Instructor; comprehensively certified 2016!
*MELT Method® Instructor; 2018!
*PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) OR/WA #9969; 2021!
