Doris Vanderhyde
Doris discovered the transformative power of yoga over 25 years ago at a small Kripalu yoga studio in New York City and immediately fell in love with the practice. The profound connection she experienced between body, mind, and spirit sparked a deep passion for yoga that has continued to grow throughout the years. In 2022, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, followed by a 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in 2023.
Doris is a clinical social worker and EMDR therapist specializing in trauma and anxiety. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher with additional training in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery and is a certified Trauma-Informed Somatic Yin Yoga Teacher.
Her background in therapy brings a unique perspective to her teaching. Through an integration of yoga, somatic practices, and embodied awareness, Doris creates a safe and supportive space where students can slow down, connect with their bodies, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Her intention is to help each person discover their own path toward greater balance, healing, and empowerment.
