Spring YINtensive

Spring Yintensive is a 2.5-hour Yin Yoga experience created to support the natural shift from
winter into spring. This seasonal offering draws from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM),
which views spring as a time of renewal, movement, and new growth. In this system, spring is
connected with the liver and gallbladder meridians—energetic pathways associated with
circulation, flexibility, emotional flow, and a sense of direction.
Through long-held, gentle Yin postures and guided meditation, we’ll invite the body to release
what feels stagnant and make space for fresh energy—like a kind of inner spring cleaning. The
practice is slow, spacious, and deeply mindful, allowing you to listen closely to your body and
respond with care.
Along the way, there will be soft reflections on how spring energy lives in the body-mind, as
well as practical invitations for aligning daily rhythms with the season—small ways of living in
harmony with spring.
This Yintensive is an opportunity to slow down, reset, and reconnect with the rhythms of the
season—supporting your body, heart, and mind as they begin to open toward growth, clarity, and
possibility.
In this Spring Yintensive, you can expect:
  • A 2-hour Yin Yoga practice with long-held, nourishing poses and extended meditations
  •  Attention to the liver and gallbladder meridians, traditionally associated with the spring season
  • Gentle education on spring through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
  • Seasonal insights and simple, embodied ways to support yourself beyond the mat
  • A spacious, accessible practice suitable for all level​s

Mercy found yoga in 2000, and soon thereafter met her teacher Sarah Powers, who introduced her to Yin Yoga and Buddhist meditation.  She completed her first teacher training with Powers and Paul Grilley in 2004, and soon after began teaching Yin Yoga at Eight Limbs Yoga on Capitol Hill.  Since then, she has birthed and homeschooled two daughters, moved back and forth across the country, worked in non-profit Community Outreach, all the while maintaining her commitment to Awakening through breath, mind, and body practices, including Ecstatic Dance which she fell in love with along the way.   Mercy continues to immerse herself in yoga and meditation, completing two more teacher trainings with Sarah Powers and becoming a certified mindfulness meditation teacher through the International Mindfulness and Meditation Alliance.  In addition to yoga and meditation, Mercy is an IFS Informed Coach, integrating Yin Yoga, mindfulness meditation, and psychological self-inquiry into her teachings and practice.  www.practiceofmercy.com
