What class should I take if I am brand new to yoga?
It would be best to try and take then Intro to Yoga series first. However you may also take one of our beginner drop-in classes. An All Levels class is appropriate but it will be geared to many levels of experience.
Should I take a private class before beginning group classes?
Yoga was originally designed to be taught between teacher and student. In the West we have definitely made it more about group classes. However the benefits of taking a private session are endless. One of the most beneficial things about beginning with a private is you will learn how to adapt postures, breath, and the philosophy to your own body. You will walk away with confidence to take a group class or to have a home practice and know what works for your individual needs. Taking a private session isn't mandatory but I highly suggest taking advantage of a one on one class.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
No We have yoga mats for you to use. I highly suggest that you invest in your own mat for hygiene reasons. If you borrow a mat you will be required to spray and wipe down the mat after class.
What should I bring to class?
Limber will provide all equipment necessary including a yoga mat, blanket, blocks, straps, and bolsters. We encourage you to bring your own mat but you may use ours at no cost. A water bottle might be nice too.
Is Limber a "Hot Yoga" studio?
NO. We do not practice hot yoga at Limber. Our studio stays at a comfortable temperature between 69-72 degrees. You may create your own heat in your body as we move through asanas but we will not take the temperature up in the room to do so.
What should I wear to class?
Wear something comfortable that you are able to move freely in. Possibly exercise/ yoga pants ans a t-shirt. You don't have to have perfect "yoga attire" to do yoga, but jeans or a skirt would not be appropriate.
